In Psalm 20 we learned that it was a prayer being prayed on behalf of David as he entered battle. Psalm 21 follows this story and is a song of thanksgiving to God for victory. This allows us a new perspective of the greater story and serves as a reminder that God hears our prayers and he is faithful to answer. Our prayers do not simply disappear into the void. They are powerful. Even Jesus said, “whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18). If prayers have the power to bind things in the heavens then prayer is definitely a powerful tool we should use regularly.
What have you been praying for lately? I challenged you to reflect on what you’ve prayed for and how God answered. It can be easy to feel like God never answers your prayers, but I bet that if you actually stop and take inventory, he has been more faithful than you remember.
