The theme of Psalm 10 is one I think most can relate to.
Why, O LORD, do you stand far away?
Psalm 10:1
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
The Psalmist speaks of how the wicked seem to get their way without consequence. They mock God yet continue to prosper. It almost stirs up a sense of helplessness or the question of, “Where is God’s judgment?” However, the Psalm ends with the reminder that God’s justice will prevail and he has not forgotten those who have been hurt and marginalized.
In a broken world, we need to be reminded of this message often, especially when it feels as if there is so much pain and suffering with so little justice.
Even in my own suffering, it can be easy to want to blame God or question his faithfulness, but based on my own relationship with him and scriptures like this, I am able to hold fast to his faithfulness and be expectant of his justice. When I read the beginning of verse 16 makes me shout AMEN and HALLELUJAH!!!
The LORD is king forever and ever;
Psalm 10:16-17
the nations perish from his land.
O LORD, you hear the desire of the afflicted;
you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear
If you are in a place where you want to strengthen your faith and learn more of the promises of God, His faithfulness, and His justice, then studying His word needs to be a top priority.
