David was a man after God’s own heart that went from a poor shepherd boy to God’s anointed king of Israel. Yet, he still faced drama and slander from others. In Psalm 26 David is crying out to God to test him and prove his innocence against the lies being spread about him.
The beauty of this Psalm comes at the end when David ends his song by praising God. Despite his frustration with the lies being told about him, David remembered to keep his eyes on God. I wish I could always be so strong! It is easy to get wrapped up in drama and forget that God is good and his mercies are new every morning.
Are you currently wrapped up in drama? Are you keeping your sights on God? If not, how can you shift your perspective?
