In Psalm 15 David begins by asking God who will be allowed to enter heaven.
He then explains that those who follow God’s commandments, love others, and walk rightly are the ones who will enter heaven’s gates.
“O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent?
Psalm 15:1-2
Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart.”
This Psalm is beautiful and offers simple guidance. Are you living your life by these principles? If not I challenge you to search your heart as to why and ask God to speak His truth to you so you can dwell on His holy hill.
Yet, works alone will not get us to heaven. The way to heaven is by surrendering your heart to God and accepting Christ as your savior (Romans 10:9-10). It is then through our salvation that these works, following God’s commandments and loving others, begin to flow out of. As we grow in our faith, we are more drawn to God’s ways and we are able to dwell in God’s presence here on earth. Can you imagine what it will be like to dwell with Him for eternity? Â
