3 Reasons You Need To Study The Bible

Studying the Bible is an essential aspect of the Christian life. As we read through the scriptures we connect with God through his written word. It reminds us of his character, promises, and our dependence on him. If you want to be a woman relentlessly chasing God and caring for the things he cares about, then you first must take time to study your Bible. As we go even deeper into God’s word through Bible study, we are able to extract even more hope, courage, and wisdom.

Through Bible study we are able to:

  1. Better understand the scriptures. As we study the history and context of when different passages were written and who they were written to, it helps us better grasp the whole story of scripture. When questions arise we are able to research and go down the rabbit hole of theology and God’s word as we dig deeper for better understanding.
  2. Protect the integrity of God’s word. By studying the Bible we are able to identify when scripture is being taken out of context or manipulated to support an ideology or way of living that is not in line with the true intention of God’s word.
  3. Spread the Gospel. God’s word is active and does not return void, which means God does not need us to make himself known. Yet, he has invited us to be stewards of his word and spread the Gospel far and wide. The more we study God’s word, the better equipped we are to share the Gospel with our neighbors next door and those on the other side of the world.

Watch your life change.

Scripture is captivating, powerful and has the power to transform your life; if you will just take the time to sit and study the Bible. I know that as you dig deep into His Word, God will give you the wisdom you need for ANY situation, His words of encouragement will abound in your heart, and His love & joy will overflow from your heart to others.

  2. I agree it is so important to study God’s word. It is comforting, full of wisdom and truth. I could not do without it. Thanks for your lovely post. I’m your neighbor at #HeartEncouragement.

  3. It’s funny how often people think the Bible says something when it’s actually Benjamin Franklin or some other human sage. It’s important to know our guidebook well!

  4. I love what you said, “protect the integrity of God’s Word”. This is sooo true. Just this week, I had two women from my church come up to me with very difficult questions regarding the faith and the word of God. I was thankful for my foundation in the Word and being deeply rooted it in it to be equipped to help these women with what they were grappling with.

Thanks for sharing these great encouragements to be students of the Word of God.
